iPE Mercedes-AMG CLA45S C118 X118 Valvetronic Exhaust

iPE Mercedes-AMG CLA45S (C118/X118) Exhaust System is a high-performance exhaust system developed specifically for the Mercedes-AMG CLA45S, covering both the C118 Coupe and X118 Shooting Brake platforms from 2020–Present. The system is manufactured from Stainless Steel and is available in configurations for both OPF and Non-OPF vehicles.

The system is designed to enhance the exhaust character of the CLA45S while improving exhaust flow and providing a more engaging driving experience. iPE develops its Mercedes-Benz exhaust components in-house, with each application engineered specifically for the corresponding vehicle platform.

For the CLA45S, iPE offers a range of exhaust configurations including Valvetronic Exhaust, Front Pipe, 200 Cell Sports Cat and Cat Bypass Pipe options. This allows the exhaust setup to be selected according to the vehicle's OPF configuration and the desired balance between sound, performance and everyday usability.

The Valvetronic Exhaust System gives the driver greater control over the exhaust character. When combined with the appropriate valve configuration, the system can deliver a more aggressive and pronounced exhaust note during spirited driving while retaining a more controlled character for normal road use.

One important consideration for the CLA45S is the factory OPF system. iPE notes that the OPF can significantly suppress exhaust sound. As a result, changing only the Catback system produces a noticeable but relatively limited increase in sound compared with a configuration that also replaces the catalytic section. iPE specifically demonstrates the difference between Catback and sports-cat/catless configurations on the CLA45S.
