DBA 5000 Series Brake Disc is a high-performance two-piece replacement brake rotor designed for demanding street, track day, club racing and rally applications. It combines a high-carbon cast iron rotor ring with an aerospace-grade T6061-T6 aluminium hat.
The lightweight aluminium hat helps reduce unsprung weight while limiting heat transfer from the rotor to the wheel hub. The two-piece construction also allows the rotor ring to expand more uniformly under high temperatures, supporting improved thermal management and braking consistency.
DBA 5000 Series incorporates Thermal Stability Profiling, high-carbon alloyed iron and the company's Kangaroo Paw ventilation design to improve thermal efficiency and heat dissipation. DBA states that the Kangaroo Paw design can provide up to 20% better heat dissipation.
Depending on the application, the 5000 Series is available in different surface configurations. HD provides a smooth OE-style finish, while T3 uses DBA's tri-symmetrical bi-directional slot design for high-performance applications. XS combines cross-drilled and slotted surfaces, while XD uses cross-drilled and dimpled styling and is not recommended by DBA for track use.
The 5000 Series can also be supplied as a complete two-piece assembly or as replacement rotor rings, allowing existing DBA aluminium hats to be reused where compatible. This can provide a more economical solution for vehicles that frequently consume brake rotors.
Exact rotor diameter, thickness, vane configuration, bolt pattern, hub specification and surface design vary by vehicle application and Product Code.
