iPE Porsche 981 Boxster Cayman GT4 Valvetronic Exhaust

iPE Porsche 981 Boxster / Cayman / GT4 Exhaust System is a high-performance Valvetronic Exhaust System developed specifically for the Porsche 981 Boxster, Cayman and Cayman GT4, covering model years 2012–2016. The system is engineered to enhance the naturally aspirated Porsche engine's exhaust character with a high-pitched racing sound while retaining the ability to reduce exhaust volume for comfortable cruising.

At the heart of the system is iPE's Valvetronic Exhaust, which provides electronically controlled exhaust valves that allow the driver to change the exhaust character at the push of a button. The full system includes a Remote Control Module with three operating modes: ON, OFF and AUTO.

In ON Mode, the valves remain fully open to maximize exhaust flow and produce a louder, more aggressive racing character. This setting is particularly suited to spirited driving, allowing the high-revving naturally aspirated engine to deliver a more distinctive and emotional exhaust note.

In OFF Mode, the valves remain closed and exhaust volume is reduced, making the system more suitable for everyday driving and cruising. AUTO Mode uses engine RPM and accelerator pedal signals to automatically adjust valve operation, providing a balance between sound and comfort depending on driving conditions.

Each component of the exhaust system is individually engineered for the Porsche 981 chassis, allowing iPE to optimize fitment and exhaust routing while overcoming restrictions found in the factory exhaust system. The result is a more distinctive exhaust sound together with improved exhaust flow and a more engaging driving experience.

For construction, iPE offers the 981 system in T304 Stainless Steel, while a separate Titanium version is also available. iPE states that its materials are selected according to the specific requirements of weight, strength, heat resistance and chemical stability.

The Titanium system is particularly attractive for owners looking to reduce vehicle weight while upgrading the exhaust system. The lighter material also complements the performance-focused character of the 981 Boxster, Cayman and GT4.

The exhaust system comes with Chrome Silver Exhaust Tips as standard. Customers can also choose Titanium Blue, Carbon Fiber or Chrome Black Tips as optional finishes to further customize the appearance of the vehicle.
