Eventuri BMW E9X M3 Intake System

Eventuri BMW E9X M3 Intake System is a high-performance intake system developed specifically for the BMW E90, E92 and E93 M3, engineered to improve the airflow efficiency of the naturally aspirated S65 V8 engine.

The factory E9X M3 intake system is already highly optimized, with an effective airbox design and ambient-air feed. Eventuri identified the primary restriction within the inlet tube connecting the airbox to the intake manifold and developed a new airflow path while retaining the factory airbox. A dedicated carbon fiber inlet scoop was also developed to increase airflow through the airbox and reduce intake air temperatures.

The centerpiece of the system is the one-piece Carbon Fiber Intake Tube, designed to provide a smoother airflow path from the filter to the intake manifold. Unlike the factory tube, which transitions from a rectangular filter opening to an oval manifold connection, the Eventuri tube transitions from a circular filter opening to the oval outlet in a more gradual and efficient manner. This helps reduce airflow disruption through the intake path.

The system uses a High-Flow Urethane Cone Filter positioned within the factory airbox and incorporates a Carbon Fiber Inlet Scoop to increase the volume and velocity of ambient air entering the airbox. Eventuri's airflow data showed higher air mass flow across the RPM range, with the difference becoming more noticeable at higher engine speeds where restrictions in the factory system become more apparent.

The carbon inlet scoop also contributes to improved thermal performance. Eventuri recorded a lower difference between ambient temperature and intake air temperature compared with the factory system, with the recorded IAT difference at approximately 5,000 rpm decreasing from 9.6°C to 5.3°C, and at approximately 8,300 rpm from 7.6°C to 4.7°C.

On the dyno, Eventuri reports a consistent gain of approximately 8–10 hp and 10–12 ft-lb of torque, with gains available throughout the RPM range rather than only at peak output. The manufacturer also reports improved part-throttle and full-throttle response, with the S65 V8 pulling more eagerly toward the redline.

Eventuri's road testing using a V-Box recorded an improvement of approximately 0.3 seconds from 100–200 km/h, with the test vehicle running a primary decat and Stage 2 tune. The same testing recorded a reduction from 9.56 seconds with the factory intake to 9.236 seconds with the Eventuri system.

The complete Eventuri E9X M3 intake includes a Carbon Fiber Intake Tube, High-Flow Urethane Cone Filter, Carbon Fiber Inlet Scoop, CNC-Machined Breather Adapter, Laser-Cut Stainless Steel Debris Guard, Silicone Coupler and OEM-specification clamps.
