CSF Porsche 991 GT2 RS High-Performance Intercooler

CSF #8166 High-Performance Twin Intercooler System is a dedicated cooling upgrade for the 2018–2019 Porsche 991 GT2 RS, powered by a 3.8L Turbocharged Flat-Six engine. Developed through a collaboration between CSF and PWR, the system brings motorsport-derived cooling technology to the GT2 RS.

The system replaces both factory intercoolers with upgraded units featuring a 2-row PWR performance-grade core. The pressure side uses 3mm rolled tubes with manually inserted turbulated inner fins to maximize heat transfer from the charge air, while the ambient side uses a 4.85mm multi-louvered fin design.

The rounded profile of the rolled tubes allows airflow to travel around the tube face and into the core more effectively than the flat-face OEM tube design, supporting improved airflow distribution and heat dissipation.

The CSF/PWR intercoolers retain the factory 87mm core thickness and approximately 103mm side-channel end-plate width, allowing the upgraded system to achieve increased cooling performance within the original packaging constraints.

Construction includes cast aluminum end tanks and high-strength TIG-welded construction, while OEM-style inlet and outlet connections provide precise compatibility with the factory components. The system is pressure tested to 120 psi for reliability in high-boost applications.

The #8166 is a true Plug-and-Play Drop-In Fit, requiring no modifications for installation and no trimming of the expensive OEM carbon-fiber air ducts. This allows the factory ducting and surrounding components to remain intact.

CSF states that the system was developed to reduce heat soak and lower Intake Air Temperatures (IATs) on stock, tuned and track-driven vehicles. The development program also included testing with BBi Autosport's Project VMAX GT2 RS under demanding conditions.
