CSF BMW F87 M2 Race-Spec Oil Cooler

CSF #8104 Race-Spec Oil Cooler is a high-performance engine oil cooling upgrade developed specifically for the BMW F87 M2 with the N55 3.0L turbocharged inline-six engine. CSF designed the system for drivers who demand greater thermal control during aggressive street and track driving.

The system uses an innovative 2-Core In-Series configuration, combining a full-size front oil cooler with a secondary cooler positioned behind it. The front core features 17 cooling tubes compared with 15 in the OEM cooler, while the secondary core adds another six rows of cooling capacity.

CSF builds the cooler using its AC Condenser Technology, incorporating a 1-row, high-pressure 26mm multi-channel microtube and a high-density multi-louvered fin design to maximize available heat-transfer surface area.

The upgraded system is designed as a Drop-In Fit, retaining the OEM oil-line connections, mounting brackets and factory shroud/ducting. No cutting or vehicle modifications are required for installation.

CSF's track testing recorded a maximum oil temperature of approximately 240°F (115°C) under testing conditions of 103°F ambient temperature with a 115°F heat index. CSF compares this with approximately 275–280°F recorded with the OEM cooler during track testing, where excessive oil temperature could lead to limp mode.

The upgraded cooler also increases total system oil capacity by approximately 0.5 quart (0.47 litre). CSF specifies approximately 7.5 quarts for the upgraded system compared with 7 quarts for the OEM configuration.

The CSF #8104 is designed for the BMW F87 M2 (2016–2018) with the N55 3.0L turbocharged inline-six, making it a focused cooling upgrade for high-temperature street and track applications.
